Boyang Wei
My name is Boyang Wei. I am a Computer Science PhD student at Northwestern University. I joined the HABits Lab in Fall 2020 and work with Nabil Alshurafa in ubiquitous computing for mHealth. We work closely with the preventive medicine department, designing, building, and analyzing end-to-end mHealth systems while focusing on processing data to help answer health-related questions.
My research focuses on developing a resource-efficient Neural Architecture Search (NAS) framework for health-related activity recognition using multimodal time series data (IMU, ECG/PPG, video). My approach aims to optimize neural architectures to balance accuracy with computational efficiency, enabling real-time processing in wearable and passive sensing applications.
I have a mixed background in Biochemistry, Computer Science, and Analytics. My research interests range from machine learning and data analytics to mHealth and passive sensing.
