About
I am Boyang Wei, a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at Northwestern University, specializing in data science, machine learning, and deep learning for real-world health and sensing applications. At the HABits Lab, I design and analyze end-to-end mHealth systems, collaborating with medical researchers to transform multimodal time-series data (IMU, ECG/PPG, video) into actionable insights.
My work focuses on building resource-efficient ML frameworks and applying Neural Architecture Search (NAS) to optimize models for both accuracy and computational efficiency, enabling real-time inference on wearable and IoT devices.
With a diverse background spanning Biochemistry, Computer Science, and Analytics, I bridge technical innovation with practical impact. Beyond academic research, I bring strong experience in data analytics, IT consulting, and applied AI, and I am eager to apply these skills to solve complex business and technology challenges in industry.
